Academic Integrity Code

"As members of the Clemson University community, we have inherited Thomas Green Clemson’s vision of this institution as a 'high seminary of learning.' Fundamental to this vision is a mutual commitment to truthfulness, honor, and responsibility, without which we cannot earn the trust and respect of others. Dishonest work and cheating is unacceptable and will give this Clemson University family a 'bad name;' thus any form of disrespect will not be tolerated. In the words of Mark Twain, 'Always tell the truth. That way, you don't have to remember what you said.'"

I decided to keep the first two sentences of Clemson's Academic Integrity Code the same. I think it is good how Thomas Green Clemson was quoted since he was the founder of this university, so I wanted to keep that in the code. I also thought the qualities that were listed were exactly what should be expected from a Clemson student. I did not think there were any better words to use. I decided to break down the next lines in to simpler text so that they would be easier to understand. I also decided to bring in some "new slang" so that the students could better relate to what was being said. I also summed up "lying, cheating and stealing" into disrespect because all those are forms of disrespect along with activities such as being dishonorable, untruthful and irresponsible. I also added the quote by Mark Twain at the end because in a students eyes, it sums the entire code up to one quote. It also brings the code down to a level that the students can relate to. It also adds a little humor so that it would be hard for the students to forget. Thus every time they think about disobeying the code they would hopefully remember this quote.

Integrity

Integrity means honesty. The integrity someone has is determined by their completeness. A man's integrity can define who they are. If one has a great amount of integrity, he/she is a very strong, independent individual. He can survive in the harsh world. He is strong and always keeps his head held high no matter what. Someone with integrity has strong morals. He believes in something and does not let anyone change the way he feels. This person does not conform with society just because everyone else is doing it. Integrity means thinking your own thoughts and believing your own beliefs without letting anyone make you do otherwise.

Integrity plays a great role in my life. I believe that one must have integrity to live a successful life. If I have absolute integrity then that means I am complete; I have everything I need to live a successful and happy life. To be completely honest, I do not have absolute integrity. I am not a perfect person. I have faults just like everyone else. I do have morals that I try to follow, but sometimes I do not always go by these morals. I am a honest person most of the time, but sometimes I might lie. Absolute integrity is what I strive for in life. I strive to be complete in every way possible. I want to live my life with complete honesty and live by my morals. Integrity plays a great role in my life because it is the reason why I live my life, to achieve absolute integrity.

My Title

I chose this blog title because it describes my perfectly. I am actually an emotional person, although many people may not realize that I am. I tend to hide my emotions. I usually come off as not a very emotional person, but thats because I keep my emotions hid deep inside of me. I am not "that girl" that cries in every movie or gets really emotional over everything. "Deeply emotional" is a perfect description of me because I am just that- deeply emotional. I am an emotional person, but no one really knows that because I keep my emotions hid deep inside me.
